De'von "Dee Dee" Coleman

De'von "Dee Dee" Derek Coleman was born on February 28, 1975 to his parents Carolyn Coleman and Willis Walker in Beckley, West Virginia.  He gained his Heavenly wings on March 17, 2021 in Beckley, West Virginia at the age of 46.

De'von is preceded in death by his father Willis Walker and his maternal grandmother Agnes Peaks.  He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Tina Johnson; daughter Chesare Spedaro; son De'von Derek Coleman II; step-daughter Kristen Massey; grandchildren Michael, Terry, and Anthony; sisters Crystal and her husband Clarence Wallace, Devin Coleman, Tia and her husband David Jackson, Taylor Coleman, and Talana Chapman; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

De'von retired from Raleigh General Hospital as a purchasing manager and cook.  He enjoyed spending his time in very creative ways by painting different types of canvas art.  He loved to work with wood by building outdoor furniture and holiday structures.  He also loved to cook and could cook just about anything.  There was absolutely nothing that De'von couldn't cook. 

De'von loved his friends and family, making people laugh and being the center of attention.  He had a smile that would light up anyone's day and he will greatly be missed and will forever remain in our hearts.

A memorial celebration of De'von's life will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, of Harlem Heights, 416 Broadway Ave., Oak Hill, WV, 25901 with Bishop David Allen officiating.  Words of comfort may be offered to the family by visiting www.meltonmortuary.com  Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center have been entrusted with cremation arrangements and are honored to serve the family.
