Donna Jean Poleck passed peacefully at home in Beckley, WV, on February 11, 2025. Donna was born in Chester, PA, daughter of Pauline and Chester Poleck, Sr. As a resident of Chester, PA, Donna was a member of St. Hedwig's RC Church and graduated from St. Hedwig's Parochial School and Notre Dame High School in Moylan, PA. She later graduated from Pennsylvania Institute of Technology, Moylan, PA with a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering Technology.


Starting as a teen and throughout her adult life, Donna Jean was employed at several businesses in the Philadelphia area and Wilmington, DE



She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jeanni and David Frear of Bainbridge, NY; and brother Chester Poleck, Jr. of Harrisburg, PA. She is also survived by two nephews, Joel Frear, his wife, Denae, and their two children; and Derek Frear; along with one niece, Stevi Bramich, her husband, Ryan, and their three children. She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Nancy and Paula Poleck; sister-in-law, Bonnie Poleck.


Donna Jean was very proud of her Polish heritage and Philadelphia roots. She followed the lead of her parents, who were avid Philadelphia sports fans, especially of the Eagles and Phillies. Donna Jean was blessed with having her beloved Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl in her final days.


Donna Jean's friends often heard about how much she missed hoagies, "real" Philly cheesesteaks, pierogi, her hometown Kyj's Bakery chocolate jimmies doughnuts and her mother's famous chocolate jimmies cake.


A heartfelt thanks is shared by Donna Jean's family for the friends she found since moving to Beckley and the support they provided as she struggled through health issues. Special thanks to the Beckley Police Department, especially to the responding officer, all of whom helped Donna Jean's family navigate through this difficult time.
