Dwight "Doug" Douglas Lucas, the love of Sherri's life and a great father, passed into his new life in heaven on October 10th, 2025. He is a well known resident of Glen Daniel from childhood up till 50 years of his life. In recent years, he called Abingdon, VA and Beckley, WV home.

Doug was born on June 7th, 1954. He is survived by his wife, Sherri; three sons, Dougie (Savanna) Lucas, Dawson (Jenny) Lucas, and Joe (Sherrie) Lucas; sister, Deborah (Danny) Murdock; grandchildren, Rebecca, Tristen, Samantha, Madilyn, Emilia, and Jaidyn; nephew, Bradley (Ashley); and niece, Brittany (Anthony).

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dawson and Patty Lucas; brothers, Lee Lucas and Tommy Lucas; and grandparents, James and Garnet Jarrell and Alfred and Bertie Lucas.

Doug worked at several coal mines during his working career, the turnpike, and his favorite job as a Bus Driver for Raleigh County.

A thank you to the nurses at Raleigh General Hospital and especially the ones in CCU for their wonderful care and compassion in his last days.

In accordance with his wishes, Doug will be cremated. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
