Earl Brendle was born on March 3, 1939 in Bryson City, NC to his late parents Ed and Dorothy (Hughes) Brendle. He went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2021 in Beckley, WV at the age of 82.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents Ed and Dorothy and his son Rodney Brendle. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 53 years, Cheryl Nelms Brendle; sons Mike Brendle, Greg Brendle, Rex (Mary) Nelms; daughter Wendy Nelms; grandchildren Christian Nelms, Dustin Eldridge, Hillary Robertson and Nikki Holstein; great-granddaughter Daylinn Holstein; 6 sisters & their husbands; 1 brother & his wife; and his fur baby Booger.
Earl was a hard working engineer working on projects such as the Memorial Tunnel under Paint Creek Mountain. He was an avid collector of eagles and a die-hard Dale Earnhardt fan. In his free time he loved to relax by working in his yard and gardening. Earl was a former member of the Beckley F& A.M Masonic Lodge, 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Order of The White Shrine of Jerusalem, part of the Scottish Rites, as well as the Beni Kedem Shriners of Charleston, WV.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 12 pm – 1 pm. A funeral service will begin at 1 pm at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow services at Sunset Memorial Park.
