Edward Lee Derringer Sr., 70 of Mabscott went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 30, 2021 in Roanoke, VA. He was the son of the late Eugene and Pauline (Greene) Derringer.
Edward “Indian” was preceded in death by his first wife Carrie Derringer; second wife Corrine Derringer; parents; son Frederick Derringer; daughter Peggy Hylton; grandson Nathaniel Ellison; brothers Preston, Larry, and David Derringer; and his sister Audrey Tomlin.
He is survived by his daughter Edie (Steven) L. Ellison; son Edward (Lisa) Derringer Jr.; grandchildren Angel Metro, Hope Ellison, Erin Derringer, and Christopher Derringer; sisters Sherri (Larry) Bolen and Druecella (Tim) Wiley; brother Randall (Melissa) Derringer; and many extended family and friends who will dearly miss him.
Edward was a true Christian and loved the Lord. He had attended church in the Crab Orchard area for many years. Edward was a proud coal miner having spent over 20 years underground. He loved to joke around and pick around with his family and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 12:00 – 1 pm. A funeral service celebrating Edward’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Paul Basham officiating at the Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center Chapel.
