Elizabeth "Liz" Sue Alexander

Elizabeth "Liz" Sue Alexander passed peacefully from this life the evening of October 23rd, 2021 due to complications following a terminal illness. She was surrounded and supported by her family and caregivers during the last days of her life.

Elizabeth was born in Lorain, Ohio on August 19th, 1955. She later on served 8 active years in the United States Military. She has been residing in Beckley, WV for many years where she was a supervisor for GoMart for 26 years.

Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband Walter "Ray" Roy Alexander; daughters Victoria Alexander (Vincent Avery) and Lisa Swafford; step-son Bradley (Jamie) Alexander; 12 grandchildren Kahlee, Telisa, Chris, Lexie, Sasha, Kailayn, Paton, Kwame, India, Jamariom, Karhyle and Jordan; 5 great-grandchildren Dailon, D'vontre, Calym, Te Jia, and Chase; sisters Audrey Swart, Virginia (Dennis) Wright, Alice (Bill) Dryden, Charlotte (Tom) Hall and a plethora of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her mother Ivy Simms; father Kenneth Simms; and brothers Kenneth, Brenton, Larry, and Earl. 

A funeral service celebrating Liz's life will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center beginning at 4:00 pm.  The family will receive friends for visitation from 3 pm -4 pm.  Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center.  Words of comfort may be offered to the family by visiting www.meltonortuary.com
