Ellen Louise Snyder Thompson, 87, of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Beckley, passed away May 28, 2024.
She was born February 22, 1937, in Coal City to the late Charlie and Hazel Hodges Hill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Randall (Randy) Snyder and Charles Thompson; two sons, Randall Lane Snyder and Russell Wayne (Rusty) Snyder; a stepson, Kevin Thompson; a sister, Emogene Drew; and a brother, Charles Edward (Eddie) Hodges.
Ellen, a 1953 graduate of Stoco High School, was a laboratory technician at Beckley Veterans Hospital for about ten years prior to her and her second husband owning and operating Autumn House Furniture Co. in Beckley.
Survivors include her devoted son and caregiver for the past two years, Dr. Richard Gale Snyder of Myrtle Beach, SC; a stepdaughter, Helen (Tom) Canterbury of Wirtz, VA; a sister, Drema Bias Evans of Beckley; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held Monday, June 3, 2024 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley with Rev. Brian Knight officiating.
The family is being served by Melton Mortuary in Beckley.
