On Monday, August 23rd, 2021, after a long and fruitful life, Emma Clay Tulley passed away at the age of 92.
The third of eight children, Emma Dora Clay was born on August 18th, 1929 at Montcoal. Her parents were Homer James and Lillian Hurst Clay. In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her sisters, Joy Wyatt and Maxine Daniel and brothers, Eugene, Douglas, Franklin and James Clay. She is the fond sister of Billy Joe Clay and his wife, Robin.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Emma worshiped in the United Methodist Church.
Emma was married to Johnny Tulley who preceded her in death as well. They were the devoted parents of two children, daughter, Johnnie Farmer and her husband, Warren Jr., of Mt. Hope and son, Lewis Tulley of Fairdale. She was the dear grandmother of Amy Linkswiler and her husband, Michael and Warren Farmer III and his wife, Angela; she was the proud great grandmother of Brooke and Titus Linkswiler and Christian and Shawn Farmer.
There is a large extended family of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 26th at 1:00 pm in the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Paul Coon will be officiating. Emma will be laid to rest in the Sunset Memorial Park here in Beckley. The family is receiving friends at 12 noon. Please practice Covid-19 restrictions during the visiting hour at the mortuary.
