Ethel Mae (Hatcher) Edwards

Ethel Mae Edwards, 87 of Shady Springs went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021, in Oak Hill at the Hidden Valley Nursing Estates following a long illness. Born October 18th, 1933, in Glen Morgan WV she was the daughter of the late Albert and Minnie Hatcher.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ervin Wilson Edwards, an infant son, Abner Lee, a daughter, Janet Edwards Richmond, a sister Bertha Hatcher, 4 brothers, Lando, Virgil, Ernest, and Alva Hatcher.

Ethel was a Christian who loved her family and while she was able to attend the Ghent Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by; Geraldine O’Neal and her husband Larry of Beckley, Ray Edwards of Shady Springs, Arnie Jean Worley, and husband Roy of Peletier NC, David Edwards and wife Wanda of Beckley, Shirley Dixon, and husband Floyd of Swansboro NC, and Robert Edwards and wife Molly of Beckley, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren also survive.

The family would like to thank Hidden Valley Nursing Estates and nurses Bridget and Samantha for their wonderful care of our mother.

Private graveside services will be held Friday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hidden Valley Nursing Estates in Oak Hill at 422 23rd., Oak Hill WV 25901.
