Ezra "Peachy" Davis

On Monday, Nov. 8th, 2021, our cherished brother and uncle, Ezra V. Davis passed away at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital.  A resident of Lester, Ezra grew up in Fairdale.  He was 73 years of age.

Known affectionately as “Peachy” all his life, Ezra V. Davis was born on Oct. 24th, 1948.  The oldest of ten children, he was the son of the late Owen Earl and Vercie Rollins Davis. A brother Robert “Bobby” Davis; nephew Estil Davis; sister-in-law Lena Davis; and a brother-in-law Gary Nelson has preceded him in death.

Ezra loved to fish and he enjoyed being outdoors.

He leaves to cherish his memory his surviving siblings, Estil Davis, Jimmy and Steve Davis, Gene Davis (Diana), Mary Nelson, Roy Davis (Loretta), Dorsey and Dawson Davis; and his long-time companion Mary Berella. Several nieces and nephews survive as well.

On Tuesday, Nov. 16th at 12:00 pm there will be a “Service of Remembrance” at the Lester First Church of God with Pastor Dale Birchfield officiating.  The family will receive friends at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow at the Allen Cemetery in Bolt, WV.  Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
