George Vitsos, 83, passed away peacefully Wednesday September 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Born in Helen, WV, George was the son of the late Steve Vitsos and Rebecca Jane Vitsos. He was a master craftsman who enjoyed golf and spending time with his family. George was married to his high school sweetheart for 63 years. He was the best husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. George's greatest pride and joy was his family.
In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his sister, Anna Lee Atkins and his brother, John Vitsos.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Dorothy Vitsos, Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter, Leslie Policastro (Tony), Surfside Beach, SC; son, Christopher Vitsos, Myrtle Beash, SC; special nephew who was like a son, David Shupe (Debbie), Boonsboro, MD; granddaughters, Sarah Morris (TJ), Conway, SC; Meghan Morris Causey (Calvin), Myrtle Beach, SC; great grandchildren, Brody, Caden, Kelsey, Brilee, Carlee and Gunner; sister, Cleo French, Beckley, WV and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday September 16, 2025, at Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center in Beckley, WV with the family receiving friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Interment to follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
