Gerald Lee Kosnoski, 69, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on August 11, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on February 18, 1956, in Beckley, West Virginia, Gerald was the beloved son of the late Joyce Ann “Joy” Jones Kosnoski and Robert L. “Bob” Kosnoski.
A proud graduate of Concord College and a licensed pilot, Gerald spent much of his career working alongside his father in various family-run businesses before continuing independently. He was a man of many interests, with a lifelong love of NASCAR and a deep appreciation for the peaceful moments spent fishing along the New River.
Gerald was preceded in death by his brother Craig Alan Kosnoski; his grandparents, Roy and Nancy Jones, and Adam and Faye Adams Kosnoski; and by aunts Jackie Lafon, Patsy Houck, Polly Legg, Katherine McIntosh, and uncle Gale (Sandy) Jones.
He is survived by his stepmother, Nida Salyers Kosnoski; his dear cousin, Cindy Warner of Texas; and special friends Matt England and Barbra Spencer of West Virginia. Gerald will also be missed by a host of extended family members and friends who knew him for his kindness, quick wit, and deep compassion for others.
A private service will be held for family and close friends. In honor of Gerald’s memory, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
He will be remembered with love and gratitude for the lives he touched and the quiet strength he shared.
