With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Gladys Lorena Messer Honaker, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2026.

Gladys was born July 26, 1953, in Charleston, WV, to William Curtis Messer and Helen Allie Asbury Messer. She was a dedicated member of Arnett Assembly of God for many years.

She is survived by her son, Tracy Honaker, and his wife, Tammy, of Arnett, WV; four grandsons, Matthew Honaker of the United States Marines, and Elijah, Andrew, and Jacob Honaker of South Carolina; a sister and two brothers from Florida; and several nieces and nephews, as well as her extended Honaker family.

She was preceded in death by her former husband of 45 years, David Honaker; her son, Reverend Curtis Trent Honaker; her precious grandson, Alex David Honaker; her special nephew, Travis Honaker; and several siblings from Florida.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-7pm on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the Arnett Assembly of God Church, 4202 Coal River Rd. Arnett, WV 25007. A Celebration of Gladys' life will begin at 7 pm with Pastor Chris Waddell officiating. Gladys will be laid to rest at the Honaker Family Cemetery at a later date.
