Grady Rutherford Glover

On Thursday September 10, 2020, we lost the patriarch of our family, Grady Rutherford Glover.  Born January 22, 1926, he was 94 years old.  He is now with his soulmate and love of his life Jean.
Grady was born and raised in Hollywood, WV.  He was the son of the late Laten and Gladys Burns Glover.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Alma Jean Wickline Glover, twin daughters Gayla Jean and Gloria Dean, his brother Everette Glover, his sisters Robbie Taylor and Virginia (Sis) Cross.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Karen Vest and husband Howard, son Kevin Glover and wife Kay, granddaughters Lisa Withrow and husband Keith, Brittany Doss and husband James, Eric Akers and wife Tiffany, great grandchildren Elly Withrow, Bryson and Layton Doss, Kaleigh and Madison Akers.
Also left to remember him are his sisters Betty Shires and husband H.W, Jean Hale, brother Marshall Glover and wife Shirley.  Also many in laws who are very special to him as well as nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Grady was most proud of his military service in the United States Navy aboard the USS Cowpens.  He served his country during World War II.  He was also an avid hunter and known for being able to spot and shoot a groundhog before anyone else would even see it.  He was a loyal and devoted family man and was respected by everyone who knew him.
Friends may visit with the family Sunday evening September 13, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Melton Mortuary.  Funeral services will be Monday September 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM also at Melton Mortuary.  Dr. James Boyd and Dr. Charles Bright will be officiating.  Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery near Union, WV.
Pallbearers will be Keith Withrow, James Doss, Eric Akers, Joey Glover, Scott Hale and Rocky Wickline.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Pachuta, Larry Trump, George Young, Darrold Wickline and Bryson Doss.
The family would also like to thank his caregivers Sue Adkins, Sharon Richmond and Lisa Danley. 
With their help he was able to stay at his home the last few months.
