It is with great sorrow that we announce, one of the world's greatest men, Harold "Don" Donald Burnside of Mabscott, West Virginia, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024 at the young age of 56.
Don was born December 18, 1967 in Beckley, West Virginia, a son of Donald and Barbara "Joan" (Beardsley) Burnside. He married the love of his life, Ann Rachel (Boudreau) Burnside on January 17, 2007.

Don was born and raised in Beckley. He ventured away to Pennsylvania to begin building his life and family. After a while, was felt the calling to come back to his hometown and began working with Jan Care as an EMT. He then started working with the City of Mabscott in the streets department. Don was a giving man who always wanted to help others and found a calling to work with the Mabscott Volunteer Fire Dept where he stayed at for many years.

Don has always enjoyed working with his hands fixing cars. Because of this love, he decided to open his own business as "KZVB Automotive" which showed his love for his grandchildren by using their initials.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Ann Rachel (Boudeau) Burnside of Mabscott, WV; five children, William and Julianne Burnside of Harborcreek, PA, Mathew and Jessica Burnside of Girard, PA, Sarah and Tyler Schaefer of Erie, PA, John and Adrianne Nyberg of Jasper, IN, and Crystal and David Harmon of Beckley, WV; grandchildren Kelsea, Zane, Vierrah, Bayleigh, Forrest, Marley, Braelyn , Mila, Rune, Gunnar, Emaline, Eliyanah, and one on the way; mother Joan Burnside of Cleveland, OH,; sisters Shannon Burnside of Cleveland, OH, and Lois Miller of Beckley, WV; brother, Sam Burnside of Cleveland, OH; and many extended family, friends, and his fire and EMS brotherhood all of whom will miss him dearly.

Don is preceded in death by his father Don Burnside; brother Ritchie Burnside, and two grandchildren.

Don loved his family whole heartedly and lived for his grandchildren. He touched the lives of all that knew him. Don never met a person he didn't like. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He gave so much and may not have realized exactly how much he was loved and appreciated by all. He will be greatly missed by all.

The Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at the Mabscott Volunteer Fire Dept on Thursday, September 12th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm located at 453 Whitestick St, Mabscott.
