Harold "Gene" Eugene Miller, age 84, of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He was born April 3, 1940 in Maynor, West Virginia, a son of Joseph and Carrie Evelyn Painter Miller. He married the love of his life, Edna "Irene" Curtis on Christmas Eve in 1980. They spent a wonderful 43 years together before his passing.

Gene attended church at the Faith Baptist Church in Prosperity.

He was a man who loved his dogs, grandbabies, and WVU football and basketball. Harold sang with his family as "The Mountain Gospel Singers" for many years.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents and his sibling Margorie Poindexter.

He is survived by his spouse Irene Miller; his children Murica (Jerry) Howard, George Miller, Dennis (Luanne) Miller, Chad (Stephanie) Miller, Christie (Douglas) Epperly, Carrie (Brian) Vance, Sydney Miller, and Son of Heart "Howie" (Bobbie Jo) Lafontaine; siblings Loretta Elmore, Harry (Laura) Miller, Donald (Vickie) Miller, JoAnn Mullins, and Sherry Beasley; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at the Melton Mortuary Funeral Chapel. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Chris Chesley officiating. Burial will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to Bowers Hospice House. The family wanted to thank the staff for the amazing care they gave to Gene.
