Obituary
Henry Grady Dean, age 88, of Procious, West Virginia, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the Villages at Greystone in Beaver, West Virginia.
Henry was born April 13, 1935, in Lobelia, West Virginia, a son of Grady and Sylvia Huffman Dean. He married the love of his life, Barbara Joyce Samples-Tucker, on June 10, 2003, in Newbern NC.
In addition to his parents Henry is preceded in death by his brothers Joe, Bill, Bobby, and Tommy Dean; sisters Mary Lynn (infant), Evelyn Fink, Kathleen Gray Dean Logan(Kitty), and Adaline Price Conway.
Those left behind to forever hold and cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara Joyce Samples Tucker-Dean of Procious, WV, daughters Linda Chapman of Sarasota, FL and Amelia Donathan of Shawsville, Va. four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Henry loved to travel. He loved spending winters in Florida and summers in WV. He enjoyed woodworking. After graduation from Greenbriar High School, he began work as an apprentice at Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, Va. He later became self-employed in the building trades, which led to his long-time employment as a superintendent and an Area Supervisor for Venture Construction company where he worked on many multi-state construction projects.
