Howard 'Gene' Richardson, age 74, of Harper, West Virginia, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024 in Beckley, West Virginia.
Gene was born December 18, 1949 in Ravencliff, West Virginia, a son of Teddie and Mavis Aretta (Gillespie) Richardson. He married the love of his life, Vicki Sue Richardson 52 years ago.

Along with his parents, Gene is also preceded in death by his late son, David W. Richardson and sister Martha Honaker. Those left to lovingly cherish Gene's memory include his wife Vicki S. Richardson; sons Scottie G. and his wife Angela Richardson and Theo C. and his wife Leigh Richardson; five sisters, Vivian Richardson and her husband Dean, Jeannetta Kessler, Vickie Berrella and her husband Stephen, Lynette Daniels and her fiance' Scott, and Jennifer Looney and her husband Chris; daughter-in-law Tonya Richardson; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many extended family, friends, and church family who will miss him dearly.

Gene was a retired US Navy Veteran. He was a loving husband, father, friend, and role model to his family and to everyone who had the privilege to meet him. Gene was well known and never met a stranger. He and his wife enjoyed attending church together until he was physically unable to go. He loved the Lord and all of his church family.

In Gene's younger years, he loved to go hunting, fishing, camping, and riding motorcycles and ATVs with his boys. He was most proud of his children and grandchildren and they were truly his life's passions. When he wasn't hanging out with the family, he could be found at the shooting range.

Family visitation will be from 10 am - 11 am and public visitation will be Tuesday, August 6th, 2024 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM with Pastor Butch LeGrand officiating. Gene will remembered with full military honors and burial will follow at Richardson Family Cemetery in Glen Daniel.
