Ida "Bea" Suttle Dowdy, 95, departed this life at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek, Virginia on July 20, 2025. She was born on November 6, 1929, at Peterstown, West Virginia to parents Edgar and Sudie Suttle.

Bea was of the Baptist Faith. She graduated from Peterstown High School in 1948. Shortly after that, she married Ray Dowdy and moved to Beckley, where she resided for the rest of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, and a special friend, Rob Zuercher.

She is survived by her only sibling, Shirley (Francis) Epling of Rick Creek, VA and several nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful sister and aunt. Her family will miss her greatly.

A Graveside Service will be held to honor Bea at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Eric Davis officiating. The family invites everyone who knew her to come out to help honor her.
