James Lee King

James Lee King, 81 of Beckley went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 5th, 2020 at his home following a long illness. Born December 13th, 1938, in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Clifford King and Anna Mae Shuck Lovern.

James was a member of the Price Hill Freewill Baptist Church and was an Army Veteran.  He was a former employee of Beckley Coal in Glen Daniel and enjoyed spending time with his family.

James was preceded in death by one grandson, Carlos Smith and one sister, Dorothy Lasper.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Della B. King; one daughter, Margaret Pack and husband, Jerry of Cool Ridge; one great-granddaughter, Addison Smith of Beckley; two nieces, Vicky Carlin and husband, Al of Bristol, PA and Cindy Direnzo and husband, Joe of Fairless Hill, PA.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 9th in the Melton Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Eddie McNeely officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park.   Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
