Jason Charles Adkins, 39 of Glen View shed his earthly chains and went on to walk with God on April 23, 2021.
He was at home with his beloved wife Lynn and mother Donna at the time of his passing.
Jason recently attended a gospel music gathering that helped to restore his faith in Christ and there he was saved and baptized. He was a talented musician, singer and songwriter. He was part of a couple of bands that played around the area. He enjoyed his time as lead vocalist with the band Blackdamp. Jason was intelligent and had a mind for business. He was very proud of his company New Culture Productions and Promotions putting together and hosting The West Virginia Metalfest held at the state fairgrounds.
Jason was a very talented musician, singer and songwriter and enjoyed playing music and spending time learning about the Bible with his wife Lynn who ultimately helped him find his way back to the Lord. Jason was a people person who impacted everyone he had ever met. He had a warm heart an infectious laugh and a huge personality. Jason greatly enjoyed family get togethers and sharing memories about loved ones.
Jason will be greeted in Heaven by his paternal grandparents Fred Hobart Adkins and Thelma Pearl Weaver (Adkins) and maternal grandparents James Dillard Bolen and Virginia Marie Perdue (Bolen) and his father Charles Adkins and older brother Charles Haney.
Jason is survived by his beloved wife Catherine “Lynn” Adkins and step-son Jackson Boggs; mother Donna Adkins; sisters Dawn Bolen and partner Tiffany Mitchell of Milton, WV, Ginny Roark and husband Danny of Daniels, WV, Patty Mills and her husband Tommy of Huntington; nephews Chris Bolen of Jacksonville, FL, Daniel Roark of Daniels, WV, Justin Haney of Alexandria, KY, and Charles Haney of Alexandria, KY; nieces Autumn Roark of Beckley, WV and Madisyn Mitchel of Milton, WV; and a multitude of family and friends including his childhood best-friend Jeremy Vaughn.
A memorial celebration of Jason’s life will be held at 8:00 pm on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center Chapel.
