Jeffery Scott "Jeff" Canterbury, 44 of Maiden, NC passed away on Wednesday February 19, 2025. Jeff was born in Beckley, WV on June 4, 1980 to Pat and Diane Canterbury. Jeff was a devoted father, son, brother and friend who left us way too soon. He was a graduate of Liberty High School in 1998 and Marshall University in 2002 and then began a career in banking and finance.

He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved basketball and played from childhood through college. He loved to garden, grow flowers and hunt mushrooms with his daughter Lyla.

Jeff is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roy and Lucille Webb and paternal grandparents, Orville and Clara Canterbury.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Lyla May and Corbin Roy Canterbury of Hickory NC, father Pat (Tina) Canterbury of Naoma WV, mother Diane (Steve) Darnell of Fairdale WV, Sister Jennifer Canterbury (Daniel Browning) of Dry Creek WV, Stepsister Diane (Julian) Chipley of Beckley WV, Stepbrother Justin Wills and Stepsister Mollie Wills, both of Naoma WV. Nieces and nephews; Averie Harbert, Remington Harbert, Leah Chipley, Carleigh Wills, and Johnathan Davis. Also, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday March 1, 2025 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Melton Mortuary Funeral Chapel. Service will be at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Family and close friends will serve as pallbearers.
