Jennie Almina Keller Obituary
With heavy hearts the daughters of Jennie Keller announce her passing. Our beloved Mother went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 7th, 2026, at her home in Huntington, West Virginia. She was 61 years of age.
One of four children, Jennie Almina Keller was born on a Wednesday, November 11th in 1964, in Beckley. She was the daughter of the late Harold Sapin Sr., and Loretta "June" Ledahawsky. Her brother, Harold Sapin Jr., has preceded her in death as well. Her surviving siblings are brothers, Jack and Clark and sister, Ruth Wells.
Our Mother was a sweet spirit who lived her life focused on the positive. Her creed for living was Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Even with the loss of her only son, Kasey on September 16th, 2011 and gradual deterioration of her health, she felt God's plans are ultimately for good, encouraging believers to trust in His timing and purpose even in the most difficult of circumstances. "Don't hold grudges." This creed has served her well.
Jennie our Mother was all about her family, her two surviving daughters, Kori and Katie (Matt Klim, long time boyfriend) and her grandson, Kahne. She believed in a work ethic and was a long-time manager of the JC Penny Jewelry Department for many years. She loved to paint and enjoyed late night talks and hanging out with her "buddy" Kahne playing monopoly with him (even though she disliked the game).
Butterflies were a sign to Jennie. The soul of those she loved may have taken flight but still danced around her as a butterfly. Our Mother felt they were love notes from Heaven.
So now it is our precious Mother and Grandmother's turn. Jennie has taken flight. She is free and yet she still loves from above. When we see a butterfly now and it lands softly, it will be her way of wiping away our tears.
God speed dear Mother until we all meet again. We will see you in every colorful wing that crosses our paths.
This Saturday, May 16th, there will be a Service of Remembrance" for Jennie Keller in the Melton Mortuary Chapel at 1:00 pm. The family is receiving friends at 12 noon. Pastor Garry Hall will be officiating. Jennie will be laid to rest in the Calfee Cemetery beside her beloved son, Kasey.
