Jerry Wayne Hamrick, 80, of Princewick, WV passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at his home with his loving wife Lillian Audrey Hamrick by his side. Jerry was born on June 15, 1945, at Widen in Clay County, WV. He was the son of the late Cornelius Dayton Hamrick and Mertie Gay Brady-Hamrick.


Jerry served in the Hawk Missile Unit in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1965. He worked in road construction for 20 plus years and later worked for Cramer security for over a decade. He loved the outdoors and he never met a stranger.


In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sisters; Genavene Abeyta, Lorene Brumage, Maxine Moore, Betty Rose, Jolene Frazier, Mona Hileman, Mary Miller, and infant sister Beatrice Hamrick; infant brother Cornelius Dayton "Buddy" Hamrick , and half-brother Jack Young.


Those left to cherish Jerry's memories are his loving wife of 62 years, Lillian Hamrick; his children Jerri "Cookie" Lucas (Lyndon), Ricky Hamrick (Tonya), and Veleda Hamrick; Several brother and sister in laws; grandchildren Derrick Lucas (Marcina),Jessica Bolon (James), Justin Hamrick (Tiarra), Jodi Biggs, Faith Terry (Joey), Mia Lucas, Amos Lucas, Breonia Cook(Gunner); and 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service honoring Jerry Hamrick will be held on Friday, February 27th, 2026 at 1 pm in the Melton Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Joe Cadle officiating. Pallbearers will be Derrick Lucas, Amos Lucas, Taven Lucas, Justin Hamrick, James Bolon, and Mike Lyons. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11am until the service time. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park with full military honors to remember Jerry's service in the U.S. Army. Family and friends are invited to gather with the family afterward at Spoken Word Tabernacle Fellowship Hall in Beaver to reminisce and share memories, and fellowship with the family. All those who wish to show their love and support for Jerry and his family are invited to attend.
