Jess Roger Gunter, age 84, of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away at Bowers Hospice House following a short illness.

Jess was born December 30, 1940 in Pineville, West Virginia, a son of the late Jess Gunter and Mary Goode. Jess was a US Army Veteran, and retired coal miner.


He is survived by Gary, Sandy, Jess "Jay", Sonya, Gage(Arianna), Issac, Pat, Krysti, Amber, and Autumn.

In accordance with Jess' wishes he will be buried at Palm Memorial Gardens in Matheny, West Virginia on Thursday August 28, 2025 at 1:00pm. Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center has the honor of serving the Gunter family. To offer words of comfort or a condolence please visit Jess' tribute page.
