Jessie Lee "Junebug" Blankenship Jr.

Jessie Lee Blankenship, Jr. was born on February 20, 1967 in Welch, West Virginia to Jessie Lee and Karen Kaye (Jordan) Blankenship.  He passed away on July 17, 2021 in Beckley, West Virginia at the age of 54.

Jessie is preceded in death by his parents Jessie Lee Blankenship and Karen Kaye (Jordan) Mullens; and the mother of his children, Syonia Jean Smith.  He is survived by his significant other of 8 years, Rachael Lee Rorrer; children Samantha Jessie Leann Shumate and her wife Brandy Ramlow and Crista Karen Ann Blankenship and her fiance' Dustin West; step-children Gary Tilley, April Tilley and her significant other Chad Workman, Amy Shumate, Joseph Rorrer, Jessica Rorrer, Paige Rorrer, and Melissa Rorrer; grandchildren Michael Gutelius, Dakota Sawyer, Desarae Godsey, Savannah Sawyer, William Sawyer, Dillon Shumate, Vera Tilley, Dawn Sawyer, Bella Sawyer, Lucas Ramlow, Noah Blankenship, Dalton Fuller, Trystyn Paynter, Chadwich Workman Jr., Jeana Workman, and Brieona West; brothers Billy Blankenship and his wife Donna Blankenship, Carlos Blankenship, and Marshall Hughart; sisters Kathryn Morrow and her husband Dwayne Morrow and Amanda Hughart; Jessie's very last surviving aunt, Maxine Collins; and many many extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Jessie, as all of his family and friends knew as "Junebug" was a fun loving man's man who enjoyed working outside fixing things and working.  He liked to mow, work outside and loved spending time with his family and all of the grandchildren.  

The family will receive friends for visitation from 11 am - 1 pm on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center.  A funeral service will commence at 1 pm.  Interment will follow services at the Davis Cemetery, 300 Webbs Fork Rd.
