Jo Ann (Elkins) Freeman Obituary
Jo Ann Freeman, a beloved Servant of Christ, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and proud dog mom passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026. Jo lived a life defined by deep faith, selfless love, and quiet strength that touched everyone who knew her.
Jo dedicated her entire life to her family. As a loving mother, she raised her children with patience, wisdom, and unwavering care. Jo later poured that same devotion into her grandchildren, creating countless treasured memories. Her dogs also held a special place in her heart, and Jo was known for her dedication to them.
Jo was the epitome of unselfishness. She always put herself last, often giving to others even when she had little left for herself. Whether it was a listening ear, a helping hand, or quiet acts of generosity, Jo lived her faith through her daily actions. Her gentle spirit, humble heart, and steadfast love for the Lord were evident in everything she did.
Jo will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. Her passing leaves a profound void in the lives of her family and friends, yet her example of Christ-like love and service will continue to inspire them for years to come.
Jo is reunited in Heaven with her parents, Herbert and Sylvia Elkins and grandmother, Anna Mae Toler.
Those left to honor and cherish Jo's memory are her children, Magen (Justin) Ross and Sylvia Freeman; grandchildren, Lilly, Savanna, Richard, and Seth; siblings, Deborah Lilly, Laura Chapman, Steven (Betty) Elkins, Herber (Debbie) Elkins Jr, Veronica Treadway, Reba Shade, and John Elkins; sweet fur-babies, Puppy and Butch; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends that love and miss her.
