John Harvey Obituary
John Leslie Harvey was born on December 13th, 1931 in Beckley, WV to his late parents John Lester and Mary Etta (Pack) Harvey. He passed away on July 27th, 2022 at his home at the age of 90.
John is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Mrs. Leska (Martin) Harvey; children Carl (Vickie) Harvey, Deborah (Zane) Mills, and Sheila (Buck Caldwell) Harvey; grandchildren Lori Hart, Carl Harvey, Jr., Angela Stover, Brian Ellison, Tammy Reichard, and Teeya and Emma Mills; 11 great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends who will miss him.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Mary; grandsons Timmy Rorrer and Zane L Mills, II.; brother Franklin Harvey; and sister Norma Lilly.
John was a retired building contractor and known for his quality workmanship. He was well known for his work on the distinguished homes at Flat Top Lake, Glade Springs and the surrounding Beckley area as well as other projects such as the Little General Stores. He was most happy when he was drafting and drawing up plans, looking at photo albums, telling stories, and watching westerns.
The family would like to extend much gratitude to John's caregivers Sheila Harvey, Linda Sears, and Kathy Kuhn.
A Committal Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum with Elder Keith Mills officiating. Words of comfort and condolences may be offered to the family by visiting www.meltonmortuary.com
