Born to Shirley Sorrell and Iduna Mae Ratliff.

John was an accomplished welder, fabricator, mechanic, and musician. He loved his family and many friends. John was a brother to everyone he met.

Preceding him in death was his father. Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife Penny Sorrell; daughter Heather Sorrell of Oak Hill, WV; stepmother Judy Sorrell of Fayetteville, WV; mother Iduna (John) Ratliff of Tiffin, OH; siblings Kenny P. (Wanda) Sorrell, Jesse Sorrell and his fiance Kristy Dunn of Winston Salem, NC, Rose (Bill) Corely of Fayetteville, WV, Leroy (Jimmy) Sorrell and wife Lisa of Supply, NC, Crissy Ratliff and Fiance Travis Millward of Fremont, OH; 3 grandchildren Nevaeh, Aaron, and Avery; and several nieces and nephews.
