Joseph 'Joe' Thomas Elmore, age 83, of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024 at his home. He was born on May 22, 1941 in Sprague, West Virginia to Joe Andy Elmore and Hattie Frances Permelia.

Joe married the love of his life, Loretta Mae Miller on December 23, 1967. They spent a wonderful 56 years together before his passing.

Joe was a Union Carpenter by trade and was a passionate creator of stained glass as well as a masonry and stone. He enjoyed adventuring into wood work creations with his cherished friend Kescle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Clyde Andy, John, and Fred; and sisters Betty Lilly, Norma Statzer, and Alma Crouse.

Joe is survived by his wife Loretta; sisters Nellie Davis and Phyllis Putnam; his lifelong friends Nick and Karen Nipper and Kescle Aliff; and his caregivers Tammy and Paula.

Visitation will be held on October 29, 2024 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at New Prospect Baptist Church located on Sweeneysburg Road in Beckley. The Funeral Ceremony Service will begin at 1:00 PM and will be officiated by Pastors Gary Williams and Tim Barton. Entombment will follow immediately at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the New Prospect Parking Lot fund in Joe's honor.
