Joyce Louise Holland, 88, of Cool Ridge, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on April 4, 2026, after a long illness. She was born on August 3, 1937.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Alma Cole; her loving husband, Henry Holland; her daughter, Robin Baker; her son, Donald Lilly Jr.; and her brothers, Irving and Donald Cole.
Joyce spent many years working at Yardney Electric in Pawcatuck, Connecticut, where she built lasting friendships and took pride in her work. Outside of work, she truly lived life in the simple joys-she loved to travel, felt happiest near the ocean (even though she never learned to swim), and never passed up a chance to visit a casino. She had a spirited personality and a way of enjoying life on her own terms.
More than anything, Joyce loved her family. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Rebecca Williams and her husband Robert of Cool Ridge, West Virginia; her son, Warren Lilly and his wife Patti of Carolina, Rhode Island; and her daughter, Judy Melbourne and her husband Kenny of Ashaway, Rhode Island. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward.
Joyce will be remembered for her strength, her independence, the love she shared with those around her, and for never having met a stranger in her 88 amazing years on this earth. The memories she created-whether through laughter, stories, or time spent together-will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
