Joyce Gay Reaves Obituary
Our sweet sister, Joyce G. Reaves, age 70, of Sophia WV passed away on October 17th, 2024 at CAMC Memorial Division in Charleston, WV.
She was preceded in death by her parents James F. and Florence L. Reaves, and brothers Ben, Jerry, and Jessie Reaves.
She is survived by brother Harold D. Reaves(and Wilma) of Oak Hill, WV, and sisters Carol Criddle(and Dr. Criddle) of Princeton, WV, Norma Furrow of Shady Spring, WV, and Cheryl Linebarger(and Robert) of Jacksonville, FL, and many nieces and nephews. Also longtime friends Della, Margaret, Virginia, and neighbors Calvin, Frank, Wayne, and many other friends.
She was a humble, caring person who lived her life in service to others by occupation, and also to her family. Always kind and thoughtful, her presence made her community a better place to live. Her nickname "Computer Chip" was earned as she easily recalled every significant date regarding her immediate or extended family: Family history, dates of births, anniversaries, names etc., and also the events and gatherings related to those dates. Her time here with us was too short, and we will miss her greatly.
To quote Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven, a time to be born, and a time to die.." Joyce will forever be in our hearts and when we think of her it will be happy memories.
