Kenneth Damon Clay, age 77, of Beckley has gone to meet the Lord on September 28th, 2024.
He was manager at Carpet World for many years and was in the Army National Guard for 8 years. Damon graduated from Glen Rogers High School and attended Glenville State University. He attended Family Worship Center and loved Pastor Luke dearly. He enjoyed singing gospel music and sang with Calvary Echos for many years. When he was not singing he enjoyed watching old westerns and the news.
Damon is preceded in death by his parents Vern and Edna Clay and his brother Jim Haynes.
Damon is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Celeste Clay; two step-sons John and Danny Wright; a son that he dearly loved, Stephen Clay and his wife Kristi; granddaughter Lexi Clay, who he thought was the best; sister Wanda Clay; brothers Jr. and his wife Betty Clay, Robert and his wife Carol, and Dallas and his wife Nina Clay; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins all of whom he loved dearly.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Park at 3 pm. Family will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beckley Dream Center in his memory at The Beckley Dream Center; ATTN: Shelby Warden, 224 Pinewood Dr. Beckley, WV 25801.
