Kerry Fredrick Lushbaugh, age 88, of Shady Spring, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025 after a long illness.
He was born August 22, 1936 in Rainelle, West Virginia, a son of Hersel Lushbaugh and Vera Flint Lushbaugh. Kerry met the love of his life Patricia Kinder, they were married in1958 and spent 67 years together.
Kerry served his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force as a radar technician. He served from 1954 until 1958 achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He was a faithful devoted member of the Carriage Drive Church of Christ and attended services as often as he could.
Kerry was a dedicated husband and father who supported his wife and family through all their endeavors and achievements, taking great pride in his children and grandchildren. He took great care of his loved ones, especially his wife. Kerry was a do-it-yourselfer and could fix anything. Kerry was known for his great sense of humor and profound sayings. He filled the lives of those he loved with laughter. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Harmon Lushbaugh.
Kerry is survived by his wife, Patricia Lushbaugh; sister, Kay Craig; children, Michael Lushbaugh and Cynthia Foy and husband Richard; grandchildren, Steven Foy and wife Catherine, and Melissa Dale and husband Nels; 4 greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 20th, 2025 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at the Melton Mortuary Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be follow at 1:00 PM and will be officiated by Allen Rich, an Elder of Carriage Drive Church of Christ. Military honors and burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.
