Kevin Carman Obituary

Kevin A. Carman, 57, of MacArthur, died Tuesday, November 24th, 2020 after complications arising from Covid 19.

Born July 2, 1963 in Beckley, the son of the late James R. and Vevitia H. (Eller) Carman.

Kevin spent his childhood in MacArthur and Alderson, WV where he attended school and was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. After his graduation he attended college at Beckley College receiving a degree in Computer Technology.

His professional career found him in many roles as a Manager for Days Inn, Infrastructure Development Manager for Cellular-One, and most recently as an IT-Senior Engineer and Developer of Business Intelligence for Segra, in the IT/Infrastructure industry.

Kevin was a Trustee and Organist for the Hollywood Missionary Baptist Church, in MacArthur. He loved his music and was an accomplished organist and piano player. There was nothing that brought him more joy than to lead his church family in their singing and praise of the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his infant brother Michael Dean Carman, his beloved parents James (Jim) and Vevitia (Veda) Carman, his brother James Kent and sister-in-law Charlotte Jean Carman. Survivors include his very dear friend Pat Sizemore, his nephews Brandon K. Carman and Jason K. Lively along with his treasured Yorkie Kellie and numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

Walk-thru visitation will be held at Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center's Chapel, Beckley, Tuesday, December 1st from 3-4 pm where family and friends may pay their respects. Interment will follow at a later date in a private service to be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Pastor Andrew Bailey officiating.  For those who wish to attend visitation, masks and social distancing is required.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hollywood Missionary Baptist Church- Building Fund by check or money order to PO Box 127 MacArthur, WV 25873.  Words of comfort may be offered to the family at www.meltonmortuary.com  Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center have the honor of serving the family.
