Kim Denise Hunt Obituary

Kim Hunt
On Monday, June 2nd, 2025 our most loved, Kim Hunt passed into eternity following a brief and very brave battle with cancer. Kim passed peacefully at the Bowers Hospice House. She was 64 years young.

The second of three daughters, Kim Denise Hunt was born on May 2nd, 1961, the precious daughter of Ruth Ann Hunt and the late John Ulen Hunt Jr. Four months and eight days ago, Kim's sister, Sherri passed away from cancer, and now, "Oh Glad Reunion."

Kim spent her childhood at Sophia, graduating from the Independence High School, Class of 1979. Known as "Rookie," Kim was all about sports in high school. She played high school basketball and especially enjoyed softball. She received a scholarship to play basketball at Concord University. Unfortunately an injury sidelined her college career.

Kim had a high work ethic and was always working even after being diagnosed with cancer. She was a long time employee of Lowe's and more recently has worked at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital.

She loved her family and along with her father and sister, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Juanita Hunt Sr., and maternal grandparents, Rena and Arlie Hughes.

Kim loved the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were her passion in later years.
In addition to her mother, Ruth, she leaves to cherish her memory her dear sister and her family, Becky Blevins and her husband, Preston and their children, Rebekah and Keith all of Dobson, North Carolina. A large extended family survives as well.

Friends, oh my, so many, among them, Brian and Christy Prunest, Rama King her cousin, Robin Stewart, Trixie and Brian Jackson and Shannon Stewart.
Kim's mother and sister would like to take this opportunity to thank nurses, Lisa Briers, Tanya Bailey and Heather Heath and the Bowers Hospice House and team, what angels of mercy and kindness you are.

The last four months has been a time of much heartbreak. There's a saying, "We don't understand, but God has a plan."

So our dear Kim, you sleep well, your spirit will travel the woods and streams you loved so well and you will reunite with all those gone on before and God speed until we are all together again.
