Kirk Page Sewell Obituary
Kirk Page Sewell passed away suddenly on June 1, 2025. He was born January 11, 1947 to Clarence and Doris Sewell, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.
He graduated from William R. Davie High School and worked as a draftsman until being drafted in 1967. He served 2 years in the Army, mostly stationed in Germany . After being discharged, he traveled all over Europe until 1970, when he to returned the US and attended East Carolina University.
In 1972, he met his soul mate, Dawn, and they were married in 1973.
During his lifetime, he worked as a carpenter, construction worker, machinist, and delivery truck driver until he found his true calling as a salesman, working for Myers Tire Supply for twenty years. He retired in 2011.
After retiring, he spent much of his time helping his neighbors and friends by cutting grass, plumbing, and carpentry work.
He also enjoyed hobbies: hunting for arrowheads, collecting old mason jars, hunting with Mike, and his most recent favorite, gardening with his best friend, Steve Fitzwater. But if you were to ask Kirk what he enjoyed the most, he wouldn't hesitate to reply "My Family".
He loved Dawn and they were constant companions, sharing all their time with their family. Every moment he spent with his grandchildren was special to him. And whenever he got to see his great-grandson, Jaxson, well, he was on top of the world.
Kirk is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dawn; his sister, Annette (Bobby) Wilkins of Ormond Beach, FL; his brother, Michael Dean (Cindy) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his brother-in-law, Kirk Taylor and wife Wanda; his cousin, Judy Drewery of Wilmington, NC; his four children, David (Kayla), Michael (Adrienne), Kelly (Jason) Atkins, and Mark; also eight grandchildren, Dylan, Hunter (Katie), Kierstyn, Jordan, Alexandra, Paige, Peyton, Quinn, and one great-grandson, Jaxson. Also, surviving, his gardening and fishing buddy, Steve Fitzwater, Steve's wife Johnah, and close friend Dianne Hughes.
