Lannie Lee Gillenwater, 63 of Beckley, formerly of Kopperston, passed away at the Bowers Hospice House on Friday September 4, 2020.
Born at Man Hospital on January 31, 1957. Lannie was the son of Elba and Beulah Gillenwater. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jimmy Gillenwater.
Those left to cherish and honor his memory are his brother Elba Gillenwater Jr and his wife Janice of Wheeling, sister Judy Alfrey and husband Marvin of Beckley. Nephews Byron Alfrey and wife Connie of Milton, Todd Gillenwater and wife Gabrielle of Kensington, MD, Brad Gillenwater and wife Joy of Baltimore MD., niece Keli Gillenwater of Wheeling, great nephew Bryce Alfrey, great nieces Ashton Alfrey and Aslynn Gillenwater, and many relatives and friends.
Lannie spent most of his life in Kopperston, he was a Christian and member of Kopperston Presbyterian Church. After moving to Beckley with his mother he attended Beckley Presbyterian Church until his health no longer permitted him from doing so.
The family wishes to thank Dr, El-Harake and the staff from Carl Larson Cancer Center, Dr. Ganesh Asaithambi, Dr. Rajan and staff, Dr. Kelly Pitzenberger and staff from the Bowers Hospice House for their loving care and support.
There will be no services. There will be a family remembrance gathering at a later date. Committal will be at the Palm Memorial Gardens in Matheny WV.
