Lavera Eloise Calfee Pritchard Lilly
Lavera Eloise Calfee Pritchard Lilly, 100, went home to be with the Lord on June 4th 2021. She was born on December 31st 1920 to the late Fred Sherwood Calfee Sr and Sadie Olena Smith Calfee in Mullens, WV.
Lavera was a graduate of Mullens High School and Huntington College of Business. She served as a secretary for Ravine Cliff Development Company, C V Fellar Insurance Agency, and treasurer of Wyoming County Board of Education until retirement.
Lavera was a devoted Christian, a member of the choir at Mullens United Methodist Church for 52 years, and a member of Calloway Heights Baptist Church in Beckley. She was married to the late Howard Thomas Pritchard for 49 years, they are both survived by one daughter; Gloria Jean Ward of Huntington, West Virginia.
Lavera was lucky enough to know love twice in her life and married the late Dewey Hartsell Lilly at age 73.
Lavera was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She was the life of the party, even at age 100. She never saw a person she didn’t greet with a hug, never heard a song she couldn’t dance to and most importantly, never stopped laughing. To know her was to love her, and she will be deeply missed.
She was also preceded in death by her cherished brother, F.S. Calfee Jr., his wife Billie Beth, and son-in-law Jim Ward.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Jean Ward; grandchildren, William "Billy" Price, and Lisa Borden; great grandchildren, Mason Price, Holly Price, and Grant Borden; and treasured nephew, Mark Calfee.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 18th, at 12 noon in the Melton Mortuary Chapel. The family is receiving friends at 11:00 am. Committal services will be at 2:00 pm in the Resthaven Cemetery in Princeton.
