Lawrence "Jack" Asbury of Slab Fork due to complications from a serious car accident on October 31, 2024. God called him home on April 16th, 2025. Born on April 25, 1954 he was the son of the late William, and Donna Asbury. Jack served in the US Navy as a Hospital Mate serving as a physicians aide. Jack worked for Nicely's Delivery Service for over 20 years. He was a member of the Lester Church of God.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Meador, sister Phyllis Asbury, brother Charles Asbury, brother Gary Asbury, and grandson Tyler Asbury.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife and best friend of 50 years Debbie Asbury, son Michael Asbury(Bethany), son Chris Asbury, and family(Chelsea and Violet), sister Carol Lilly, sister Lawanda "Bunny" Cooper, brother Rodger Asbury, grandson Hunter Asbury(Danni Buchanan), grandson Bentley Asbury, and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A celebration of life will take place for Jack, on Thursday April, 24th, 2025 at 1:00pm in the Melton Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Ernie Francis officiating.
