She and Okey were also active members of several political, veterans and civic organizations, such as the Senior Friends and VFW Auxiliary 4469 for many years.

Family and friends knew Letty as a being a very sweet, kind-hearted, loving, beautiful and most important patient woman and we are honored to have had her in our lives for so many years and will be terribly missed.
The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the Caregivers, Carolyn Page, Yvonne Gordon, and Latia Wilson who professionally, willfully and lovingly cared for Letty throughout her sickness. Also, Letty acknowledged how very thankful and blessed she was for her great-niece Kristen Shrewsbury who helped and stayed with her for months after the passing of her husband in 2001, and for niece, Peggy Neely Cook for her attentive, love, care and help during her years of her sickness after 2011.
