Lillie Jane Davis Obituary
Lillie "Jane" Davis, age 67, of Glen Daniel, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 4, 2026 after a long battle with illness.
Lillie was born June 30, 1958 in Peterstown, West Virginia, a daughter of Edward and Violet Louise Davis.
Life was not always easy for Lillie but she was an example to her family of what was possible when you have the determination to do anything. Jane had two children, Rebecca and Frank, and worked hard raising them right.
One of Jane's greatest triumphs was going back to get her GED. Jane was determined not to stop there. She obtained her certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to better the life of her family. Jane defined her life by her hard work and determination. With her mindset, anything was possible. Jane worked 2-3 jobs most of her life to provide for her children and ensure that they were taken care of.
This hard-working nature reflected in her care of the home and children. Jane was an example of both motherly and fatherly traits. She would mend clothes, clean the house, and care for her children; but Jane would also re-shingle the roof, install sink faucets, and fix all sorts of things around the house. Jane was an example to her children to let nothing hold them back and that they are capable of anything.
In the time that Jane wasn't working, she enjoyed growing roses, sewing, and painting. Jane loved to paint landscapes. Jane did not let canvas contain her work. Her family fondly recalls her lovingly painting her daughter's room with Care Bears when she was little.
Jane spent all the time she could with her grandbabies and great-grandbaby. She was all about her grandchildren and loved helping to spoil and raise them. Jane was a family woman through and through. Her devotion to them showed in everything she did.
Jane enjoyed her job as a CNA. She worked up until a year ago and finally needed to retire due to her health.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Davis, Ronald Davis, Larry Davis, and Timmy Davis; and sisters, Shirley Davis and Judy Davis.
Jane is survived by her children, Frank Silas and Rebecca (Jonathan) Miller; grandchildren, Faith (Charles) McKnight, Karissa (Ray) Silas, Eric Bragg, Allyson Miller, Charles Bragg, Timmy Bragg, Jonathan Miller Jr, and Emma Miller; great-grandbaby, Ari Wallace; siblings, Wayne (Connie) Davis, Linda Vaughn, Evelyn (Lawrence) McKnight, Herold Davis, Marylin (Curtis) Bragg, Curtis (Jan) Davis, Claude Davis, Ruby (Mike) Lee, and Elva (Dillon) Woodrow; and other nieces, nephews, family, and friends who love and miss her.
A Funeral Service honoring Jane will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, April 9th at Melton Mortuary. The family will begin accepting visitors an hour prior. Jane will be laid to rest following the service at Miller Cemetery in Rock Creek, WV. All those who wish show their love for Jane and her family are invited to attend. Jane would want anyone attending to come as they are. She would say that there is no need to dress up and to honor her by sharing happy memories.
The family sends a special thank you to Hospice of Southern West Virginia and Bowers Hospice House in Beckley for the care they provided to Jane.
