Linda Joyce St. John, age 78, of Coal City, West Virginia, was called to her eternal home in glory on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at her home with her devoted husband by her side.

Linda was born February 14, 1946 in Beckley, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Everett Roark and Hazel Greer. She married the love of her life, Claude St. John on May 05, 2017 in Jonben WV.

Linda was brought up Baptist and attended the congregation of Jonben Freewill Baptist Church. Linda was a hardworking woman, being employed as a manufacturer of vacuum cleaners for Electrolux in Bristol Tn, and later in life she worked at K-Mart in Texas, Beckley Wv, and Oak Hill WV where she retired after many years of service. She was an avid football fan, always rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the West Virginia Mountaineers alongside her husband, she was an animal lover, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed hiking as well. Linda was a graduate of Stoco High School class of 1964.

In addition to her parents Linda is greeted just outside the Eastern Gate by her three brothers, Denny Ray Roark, Joe Roark, and Frankie Roark, one sister Nancy Lynn Sears, and one sister in law Beth Roark.


Those left behind to cherish and hold her memory, and await an oh so glad reunion, are her husband of eight years Claude St. John of Whitby, WV formerly of Albany, NY, three sons Jimmy Whittaker(Vickie), Trevor Whittaker(Kelly), and David Whittaker(Jeannie) all of Texas, three sisters, Becky Lytton, Carol(Ronnie) Agee, and Diane(Gary) Lawson, all of Coal City, WV, two brothers, Johnny Roark, and Everett "Tuffy"(Teresa)Roark of Mabscott, WV, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will all miss Linda dearly.

The family wishes to offer special thanks and recognition to the staff and doctors of Hospice of Southern WV, for all of their care, compassion, and love shown to Linda, and the family during this difficult time.
