Lisa Minor Obituary

Lisa Ann Minor, age 55, of Fairdale, West Virginia, joined her mom and dad in heaven, on Thursday, January 19, 2023.

Lisa was born October 03, 1967 in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of Walter and Linda Gail Heaton Hill. In addition to her parents she is also greeted at Heaven's gates by her grandparents, JT and Marie Hill, and Vernon, and Drena Heaton.

Those left behind to cherish and hold her memory close include her daughter Johnna Minor of Richmond, KY, sister Kim(George) Pauley of Beckley, WV, brothers, James Hill of Fairdale, WV, and Robert(Bambi) Hill of Beckley, WV, nieces, Brittani Weis of Alderson, WV, Caila Hill of Fairdale, WV, Mary( Cody) Bloom of Midway, WV, Allie(Connor) O'Donoghue of Bryson City, NC, Leah Hill of Beckley, WV, Rainzley Pauley of Beckley, WV, Gracie Pauley of Beckley, WV, and Raelen Pauley, of Beckley, WV, nephews Matthew Hill of Fairdale, WV, Bryant Hill of Beckley, WV, Nolan Pauley of Beckley, WV, Derek Pauley of Beckley, WV, Dalton Pauley of Beckley, WV, great nieces and nephews, Madelynn, Connor, McKinnley, Colten, Walter, and Roland, and special adopted son Nathan Lucion of Charleston, WV, and many other extended family and friends who will all miss her dearly.

Lisa was fiercely independent, loved to travel, and was an avid softball fan, with 9 years of traveling to Oklahoma City for the WCWS(Womens College World Series), she loved her family with a burning passion, always spoiling her nieces and nephews. She was an animal lover, especially her numerous poodles. She was a patriot and was passionate about caring for our nation's veterans in her 25 plus years of service with the Veterans Administration Hospital. She achieved her RN in 1990 from Bluefield State , and her masters degree of Nursing from WGU in 2020. During her 25 plus years of service with the Veterans Administration Hospital , she oversaw as the director of long term care all of the VA long term care facilities in the US. She was very accomplished in her education always pursuing additional degrees, and certifications. Lisa was also an avid WVU fan, always rooting for her beloved blue and gold.

The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at the Carl Larson Cancer Center, and to the Internal Medicine, and Oncology Departments at the University of Virginia Medical Center. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in Lisa's memory to the Carl Larson Cancer Center in Beckley, WV.

A funeral service will take place for Lisa on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 2pm, at the Melton Mortuary Chapel, Friends and Family may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Mount Tabor Cemetery in Beckley, WV.
