On July 21st, 2025, God called home Lloyd Lee Grimes at 76 years old after his battle with lung cancer while at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, West Virginia. Lloyd was born on December 17, 1948 to Daisy Dale Shrewsbury and Kenton Charles Grimes in Clifton Forge, Virginia.
He was a loving father of one and brother to many. He worked in a warehouse for 23 years then moved on to be a butcher at Kroger's for another 23 years. He was the most honest, carefree and loving person you could ever meet, and boy did he love his golf.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers and sisters; Jack Grimes wife Jenny Grimes, Jake Grimes, Charlie Grimes, Kenneth Grimes, Junior Grimes, Arbutus Grimes, Wanda Grimes, Mary Grimes, Thelma Grimes, Pearl Grimes and James Grimes.
He leaves behind a son, Lloyd Lee Grimes II; granddaughter, Paislee Grimes; brothers, and one sister William Grimes, Terry Grimes and his wife Barbara Grimes, Ira Grimes, Johnny Grimes wife Linda Grimes, Inus Young.
A Celebration of Life will take place 1:00 pm, Thursday, July 24th, 2025 at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, West Virginia. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 12:00 pm.
