Lucille Athey Minnix

Lucille Athey Minnix, 86 of Beckley and wife of Clarence Lee-Roy Minnix, passed away on September 23, 2021. Lucille was born in Eccles, WV on June 19, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Lowery Latton Athey and Elizabeth Daniel Athey.

She was a professional seamstress for 30 years and a member of Beckley Regular Baptist Church.

In addition to her devoted husband, she is survived by two daughters, Drema Lee Johnson (Mike) of SC and Kathy Ann Meadows (D. Scott) of NH; three grandchildren, Andy Ray Byrge (Pauline) of TX, Jonathan Lee Meadows (Katie) of VA, Abby Pavlik (Andrew) of NH; seven great-grandchildren, Mason Byrge, TX, Eva, Noah and Sirat Pavlik all of NH, Willow, Liam and James Meadows all of VA; sisters Sylvia Honaker and Delories Sellards (David), as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters Nellie Horne, Betty Manning, Patty Sellards, Janette Manning, and Shirley Rasmussen; brothers Herman, Billy, Buster, James, Freddie, Jesse, and Junior Athey.

Funeral services will be held on October 5, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor D. Scott Meadows of Calvary Baptist Church (Reformed) of NH officiating at the Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center Chapel, 1200 Harper Rd, Beckley, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at noon. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV.  Floral arrangements are welcome or if you wish, donations may be made to the Beckley Regular Baptist Church, 707 Johnstown Rd, Beckley, WV 25801. Words of comfort may be offered to the family by visiting www.meltonmortuary.com
