Luther Fitzgerald Obituary

Luther Douglas Fitzgerald, 74, of Saxon, went home to be with the Lord on February 4, 2020 following a short illness.

He was the son of the late James D. Fitzgerald and Marie Hall Fitzgerald.

In addition to his parents, Luther, was preceded in death by; his two brothers, James “Porky” Fitzgerald Jr. and Ricky Fitzgerald; and his loving wife, Rosemary Fitzgerald.

Luther dedicated his life to his work, family, and to service to the lord. In his last few years, his greatest joy was in his grandson, Luther.

Luther is survived by; his daughter, Leslie Fitzgerald; a grandson, Luther Fitzgerald-Temple of Eccles, WV; a honorary grandson, Michael P. Hale of Saxon; two brothers, Melvin Fitzgerald of Roanoke, VA, and Anthony Fitzgerald of Roanoke, VA; a sister, Jean Heatwole of Staunton, VA; a sister-in-law, Doris Fitzgerald of Roanoke, VA; and many nieces and nephews, that he loved dearly.
