Mabel Pauline Maynard

Mabel Pauline Wright Maynard, a long- time resident of Glen Daniel departed this life on January 25th, 2021 at the age of 93.

The youngest of ten children, Mabel Pauline Wright was born on January 11th, 1928 at Delbarton, to the late Henry McKinley and Edna Alice Martin Wright.  In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Ora Mae Anderson, Lettie Louise Farley, Nannie Marie Wallace, Ruth Virginia Rutherford, Mattie Joyce, Henty Wright Jr., James Ezra Wright, Margie Jean Wyatt and Betty Lou Thompson. 

A devoted homemaker, Mabel had been a member of the Fairdale Freewill Baptist Church since 1960.

In addition to the Wright family, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband and son, Gene Maynard and Henry Maynard.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Ron and his wife, Mary of Lester, James and wife, Joyce of Fairdale, Sue Bower and husband, Bob of Lester and Judy Taylor and husband, Randy of Tennessee .  There are nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren; and close family friend, and former son-in-law, Roger Clyburn.

 A walk through visitation will be held Saturday, January 30th from 12 noon until 2:00 pm in the Fairdale Freewill Baptist Church.   There will be a private service for the family.   Mabel will be laid to rest in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity.  Facial coverings are required for those who wish to attend.
