Margaret Hulvey

On Monday, October 4th, 2021 our most cherished, Margaret  Peltz Hulvey passed away at the age of 74.

The third of four children, Margaret Ann Christian was born on March 25th, 1947, at Cucumber in McDowell County.  She was the daughter of Dennis D. Christian and Lorena Walker Christian Alley.  In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, James B. Walker and her sister, Alta Ilene Underwood.  She is the fond sister of Della King who Margaret has made her home with.  They so enjoyed each other’s company and Della will miss her greatly.

Margaret spent her early years at Ameagle.   She was a long time resident of Dameron.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hulvey.  Margaret’s life has had great challenges.   She was the mother of five children.  Eric, Heidi, Gretchen, and Bucky have all preceded her in death.  She is survived by one daughter, Michelle Peltz, and several grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit at the Melton Mortuary on Friday, October 8th from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.  Committal services will be at 1:00 pm in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens where Margaret will be entombed.  Pastor James Johnson will be officiating.   Those wishing to attend the committal services are asked to be at the Mortuary by 12:30 pm.
