Martha Jane Henderson, better known as Janie, 72 of Saxon, WV passed away peacefully at CAMC Memorial on January 14,2025, after a short fight with cancer. Born September 14, 1952 in Dameron, WV.

She was the daughter of the late Ace Lucas and Virginia Underwood-Lucas. Janie spent her life as a wife, mother & grandmother. She was always on the go, whether it be making meals for her family, making pies for a bake sale, or planning Christmas parties for those in need but her favorite was chasing her grandchildren around. Janie loved the outdoors and couldn't wait for the summer months to go fishing,having weenie roast, hitting up all the yard sales and to soak up the summer sun.

Janie is preceeded in death by her husband of 50 years Robert Henderson, a son Bobby Henderson , several brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish her memory are her son Jason (Courtney) Henderson, four grandchildren, Christopher Henderson, Alyssa Henderson, Alaina Bailey and Josie "dozer" Henderson. Special friends, Sherry Cuevas, Pat Burleson, Marilyn, Brooks, Brenda, Cook, Brenda, Collins, Romona Covey, and many other friends and family.

While we will miss her more than words could say we are happy to know she's at peace. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at CAMC Memorial CPICU for all their help during this time and Savanna Hatfield & Lydia from CenterWell for all that they had done.

In following her wishes to be cremated the family will have a Celebration of Life on January 31, 2025 from 5 to 7 PM at Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center with Pastor Garry Hall officiating.
